The Good Life Youth Group is for Middle School and High School students in Kansas City's Argentine neighborhood. Students share a meal together, play games, and participate in small group Bible study. We provide dinner for our Argentine students to eat together on Wednesday nights as one of our core values of The Good Life. We break bread together as Jesus broke bread with others. These are simple dinners similar to what can be found at our Youthfront camps! One or two full time Youthfront staff are present at all times.
Volunteer needs:
Kitchen Helper: Work with students to help clean the dinner area, including picking up trash, wiping down tables and cleaning dishes. Caring adults are needed to prepare and clean up meals and mentor students.
Meal Provider: Individual volunteers or groups may sign up to provide dinner. Dinner is typically served at 6:30pm. Meals may be cooked at home, cooked in the Argentine Mennonite Church kitchen, takeout, pizza delivery, etc--the choice is yours! Attendance ranges from 15-20 people.
Mentor: The Good Life Mentors focus on intentional, nurturing relationships for our Argentine students to experience the love of Jesus. Mentors do this by participating in games, eating at the dinner tables with students, and leading small group Bible studies.
Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age (18 with special permission). Applicants must pass a background check and be approved to volunteer with youth.
